The High Andes of South America is home to many powerful indigenous shaman most of Quechuan background, descendants of the Incas. The Shaman of this area are referred to as Yachaks, or Bird people Shaman. They source much of their power from the earth and elements of the earth, or Pachamama, the word for mother earth, time and universe in Quechua. The rituals and ceremonies of this region are based on forming deep spiritual relationships with the mountains, volcanoes, rivers, streams, plants and rocks, all of Pachamama. While they work specifically with the elements of their homeland these techniques can be applied anywhere in the world.

In this workshop you will be introduced to the techniques, heritage, and teachings of the Yachaks of the High Andean Ecuadorian tradition. You will learn techniques that have been used for centuries and are still used today by the indigenous healers of the Andes. The sharing of these ceremonies is part of the fulfillment of the prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor. The Eagle represents the intellect, reasoning and the cultures of North America. The Condor represents the heart, intuition and the cultures of South America. The prophecy has spoken of the sacred time when both the Eagle and the Condor will fly together, when the ceremonies and rituals of earth honoring ancients shall be shared with the modern world. This experiential workshop of sacred ceremonies used for healing and meditation will help you to open up the path to the sacred healer within yourself and help you to serve the earth through self-awareness. It is to this purpose that they are shared.

The ceremonies and rituals remove negative energy from the aura and assist in the reconnection to the universal life force or Pachamama energy. The use of rocks, plants, cologne, and fire represent the various aspects of Pachamama. The Andean tradition works with Seven Sacred Gods; Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Animals, Rocks, and Plants representing the various expressions of the spirit of Pachamama. All of these elements or spirits (Gods) offers its unique energy in ceremony to the healing process. For the Yachaks all healing comes from Pachamama, they do not do the healing, they believe that by having married themselves in sacred ceremonies to the mountains, the land, sacred waters etc. they can more readily access the powerful life force and form connection with Pachamama on behalf of the person being healed.

But you do not need to be a Yachak in order to heal yourself with Pachamama energy, just ask and she will be there for you. Remember that Pachamama helps to heal you so you can help heal her. This is all that is asked in exchange; honor the gifts you receive in your own unique way.
