Journey Work - Soul Retreival - Andean Healing Ceremony
![]() |
Indigenous Shaman are our most ancient of healers. They have carried the knowledge of their elders for generations to aid people in health and spirit. Many cultures, including the shaman that I have studied with, believe that the time has come to share this knowledge. The prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor speaks of this time when we learn to fly with both wings, the heart and head, to heal Pachamama and ourselves. Pachamama is the Quichua word for Mother Earth, Time, Space the Universal.
I was gifted with the opportunity to live and learn from Andean and Amazonian shaman and given their blessings to bring their traditional knowledge to my work. Traditional shamanic healing involves the clearing away of illness or bad spirits to cleanse and connect our sprit with the great healer, Pachamama. Journeying allows us to travel to other states of consciousness to gain insight into our own healing. I work both directly and long distance with many techniques of shamanism for healing of the spirit and body.
Shamanic Sessions
There are different sessions available based upon your needs:
- Traditional Andean Healing Ceremony** – involves the use of various sacred items such as flowers, cologne, incense, rocks and plants. Some items are provided by the client others are sacred items gifted to me from the shaman of the Rainforest and Andes. Fire is used as a means to cleanse the aura and spirit around a person’s body.
- Journey Sessions – are both guided and non-guided using combinations of meditation and drumming. These sessions are usually 1hr. they are conducted either in a seated or reclined position of comfort and can have various areas of focus:
- General Intuitive Journey
- Connect with spirit guides
- Gain insight for specific life challenges
- Soul Retrieval * usually longer sessions and some preliminary work is needed before a retrieval is performed.
- Stress reduction/Meditative
- Long Distance Sessions – distance healings are possible and take many different forms. The type of ceremony and the items that may be needed, i.e., photo, candle etc. are discussed on an individual basis with the client. The client may be asked to perform a ceremony in their location simultaneously with the session that Joyce would be conducting.

The individual session is helpful for both physical and spiritual needs, offering clearing of negative energy that may manifest physically in the body or in continued non-supportive patterns of behavior.
In the tradition of the Quechua, descendants from the Incans, the connection to the Earth Mother is emphasized; therefore the healings will invoke all the spirits of Pachamama (mother earth). The mountains, rocks, waters, plants, animals, air, and fire are called upon to help cleanse you, connect you to their spirits and put you more clearly on your path of light.
The session itself is very “physical” in nature, you will be cleansed with rocks, eggs, cologne water, plants, flowers, fire, and smoke, prayers and chants are also used. The process opens your heart to receive the energy of Pachamama allowing you to flow more naturally on your true path.
Things to bring:
- 4 carnations, 2 red and 2 white if possible, if not 4 of all one color is fine
- One new, unlit white candle. A 5” size is good in the round or taper kind; no fat pillar candles are needed
- 2 raw eggs, preferably brown organic fertilized. But any raw eggs are okay
- A bandana or handkerchief or hat
- A change of clothes for after the healing, best to be all the same color, blue top and bottom etc. anything except for all black is okay. This is to keep the vibrational energy balanced.
- 1 pint of 151 Bacardi Rum
Guidelines:
- You receive an individual reading and healing. You may ask specific questions although these areas may not be the same areas that spirit is advising on at the time of your session.
- Part of the healing involves the use of blowing fire around the person to clear the energy; the fire is felt around but not on the body.
- If you have an item you would like to bring for blessing it will be placed on the altar during the healing.
