The Tamayos
Don Esteban Tamayo is a farmer in the sleepy Andean town of Carabuela, Ecuador. He is also a Yachak Shaman of the Andes, known as bird people healers.
It was while he was still in his mother's womb that he called out to the world and his Shamanic powers became apparent. Studying and honing his skills as a healer in the Incan tradition, he learned much of his skills from his mother.
Decades later he has taught his two sons, Jose and Jorge, and together they form a formidable force of Shamanic healing power, each one adding his unique talents and energies in healing ceremonies. The Tamayos remain deeply connected to their homeland, living in a vortex power place in the valley between three volcanoes; the male Imbabura and his two female companions Huarmeraso and Mojanda. This valley is called The Valley of the Dawn.
A steady flow of visitors arrive at their homes from the community and from all over the world to be healed. Stories of their Shamanic skill and power have spread far and wide, and in recent years we have been blessed with their willingness to leave their beloved mountains and come to heal our people here in the US.
Married in sacred ceremony to the mountains, to the land and the sacred waters, they access this powerful connection on their journeys throughout the world. Working closely with the elements of Pachamama, Mother Earth, their use of fire in cleansing is world renowned in its effectiveness.
They carry with them the destiny of fulfilling their ancestor’s prophecy of the Eagle (representing North American culture and the mind) and the Condor (representing South America and the heart). Creating a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern needs they share their stories and teachings to help us transition into more sustainable, Earth-honoring ways of living.
