As owner of MWI and a graduate of The Somerset School of Massage Therapy in 1998, Jeff has been extensively trained in Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue, Myofascial, Sports and Reflexology massage techniques.
In addition to a 750 hour Massage Therapy Certification, Jeff has also competed 250 hours of Structural Bodywork with Tom Meyers. Jeff's strong background in myofascial release and neuromuscular therapy coupled with structural bodywork has made for a very powerful therapeutic practice.
Jeff is currently an instructor at Hesser College and has been instructing massage and related sciences since 1998. He has been teaching all the techniques listed above, and also an extensive anatomy, physiology and pathology program for a number of schools including Hesser College.
Since opening his private practice years ago, he has continued to refine his skills and expand his therapeutic knowledge so he may better serve his students and the community.
"My understanding of the body mechanics and the impact they have on muscular conditions has made for successful work with chiropractors, orthopedists and physical therapists throughout my career".
His massage technique is very specific to fascial (connective tissue) and musculoskeletal dysfunctions that are exhibited by clients. Most clients and patients call Jeff's technique unique and extremely therapeutic compared to many other therapists.
Over the last 6 years, he has documented and researched many cases all in an effort to better understand the body and it's related dysfunctions. This has aided him in developing and refining many of the techniques that he employs today.
Jeff has taken all of his tools and gifts that he has been awarded (becoming an educator and therapist) and developed his continuing education platform. Jeff is a NCBTMB Catagory A Continuing Education Provider, and he currently offers certifications in Myofascial Release / Soft Tissue Mobilization (MRSTM), Clinical Assessment, and Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT). Jeff has been teaching NMT and MRSTM since 1998 and this has allowed him to expand each course to teach more extensive and in depth material.
In the near future, he hopes for MWI to continue to grow, expand and move to a larger location to allow the 20+ former continuing education students that have been on a waiting list to begin an apprenticeship program with MWI.
"My experiences have afforded me a deep understanding of the therapist’s role in assisting clients to reach optimum performance, and I am proud to offer my education, healing and performance improvement to individuals seeking optimum health".
In good health, Jeff Mahadeen, LMT, NCTMB
