Earth Heart Yoga Studio Guidelines & Policies
The following guidelines and polices are for the benefit of everyone at the studio participating in yoga classes, workshops or special events. Your consideration in following the guidelines will make everyone's experience here at Earth Heart Yoga a pleasant one.
- Student Registration - please fill out the student registration and liability waiver before your first class. Ask the instructor for one if you did not fill this out.
- Respect your limits - yoga is a personal practice not a competative one. Each of us has our own individual limits and levels of experience. For your enjoyment practice honoring your limits, only you know when you are pushing too far. Follow the instructions of the teacher carefully and advise them if your body feels pain in any posture. Come out of a pose early if you feel pain and make appropriate modifications to care for the needs of your body. Ask the instructor for modifications if you are uncertain of what they should be. Patience and consistency of practice is what will raise the level of your practice over time, not pushing your self too far too soon.
- Injuries - please advise the instructor of any injuries or specific health conditions such as muscle strains, chronic aches, high or low blood pressure, glaucoma, inner ear disorders, heart conditions or if you are pregnant, prior to the onset of class. This will allow us to assist you properly and offer necessary modifications to the poses.
- Arrival Time - the studio will open 10-15min prior to class, it is best to arrive 5-10 min. before class to settle in, set your space and gather the props you may need for class. All classes begin with a 10-15min centering. To reduce interruptions during centering the door will be locked once class begins, it will be opened again after centering to allow for any late arrivals. If we should forget to re-open the door, please check to see if we are standing and beginning and then you can knock on the door to be let in. The door will then be locked again for the remainder of class. Please do not plan to be allowed into the studio more than 10-15min ahead of class as we are preparing for class at that time.
- Equipment - please bring a sticky mat to your class and follow the instructors guidelines on what props you may need, i.e., strap, blanket, blocks etc. there will be mats for your use if you do not have one of your own and mats for sale if you wish to purchase one at the studio. Yoga practice works all the internal organs as well as the outer body muscles. It is best to have an empty or near empty stomach. Allow yourself 2-3hrs. After a full meal. Small snacks for energy prior to class are acceptable. Turn off all cell phones and pagers during class.
- Set up - align your mats in rows with the other students so the instructor can easily pass through the rows and make adjustments as needed. When all students are lined up it is easier for an instructor to see when a person is out of individual alignment.

Please be sure your attire is appropriately covering all private parts of the body so as not to cause any distractions.
